Council Order Training

Accredited Training & Behaviour Support in South Australia

If your dog has been issued with a council order — such as a Barking Dog Order, Nuisance Dog Order, Menacing Dog Order, or Dangerous Dog Order — you are legally required to engage with a qualified professional to address the behaviour concerns.

I am an Accredited Trainer with the Dog and Cat Management Board of South Australia, offering a specialised program that meets council requirements and supports positive change for your dog.

✅Accredited. Experienced. Compassionate.

With years of experience supporting dogs and their families through behavioural challenges, I use evidence-based, force-free methods to help improve safety, wellbeing, and quality of life — for both you and your dog.

The Council Order Training Program Includes:

🐾 Four x 1-Hour Consults
Your program is designed to meet council requirements while giving you the tools to support your dog’s progress:

1️⃣ Session 1: Online Intake (via Microsoft Teams)
A link will be sent to you a few days before your appointment. In this first session, I’ll:

  • Take a detailed history of your dog

  • Discuss effective management strategies to prevent behaviours from escalating

  • Explore supplements that may support emotional wellbeing

  • Begin foundation training to prepare for our in-person work

Holding this session online allows us to focus on your dog’s behaviour without placing them in a potentially stressful or overwhelming situation, setting the stage for a calmer and more effective start to training.

Following the Online Intake, you’ll also receive a written, personalised training plan tailored to your dog’s needs.

2️⃣–4️⃣ Three In-Person Sessions (at your home or nearby)
Each one-hour session focuses on:

  • Reviewing progress and celebrating wins

  • Troubleshooting challenges as they arise

  • Implementing personalised behaviour modification strategies

  • Building new skills to support your dog’s ongoing development

📄 Written Council Report
A formal report prepared for your local council, documenting progress, risk mitigation strategies, and compliance with training requirements.

🎽 “Give Me Space” Dog Bandana
A simple way to promote safer interactions while your dog is in training.

Total Cost: $650

📎 Ongoing Council Communication

If needed, I can liaise directly with your local council to confirm that a behaviour management plan is in place, training has commenced, and progress is being made. Reports are professionally written and aligned with what councils typically request.

“I would like to express my highest recommendation for Lena from Paws and Reward. From my initial correspondence with her, it was evident that Lena possesses a great degree of compassion and kindness. For both her canine clients and their guardians! She approached my dog, Watra with great sensitivity and insight tailoring her methods to address Watra’s individual needs. Her guidance has been invaluable in helping me understand and manage Watra’s behavioural challenges, and the progress we have made is a direct result of her expertise and empathy. Thank you Lena ❤️❤️❤️”
