Dog Training Workshops for Kids Aged 7–15 in Adelaide

Junior Dog Trainers Club offers fun, hands-on dog training workshops for children aged 7–15 in Adelaide, with small-group sessions in Blackwood, Flagstaff Hill and Balhannah.
Children learn practical dog training skills, canine body language and safe, respectful ways to interact with dogs — all while having fun and building confidence with a dog they already know and trust.
Your child can attend with their own dog, the family dog, or another familiar dog such as a grandparent’s or family friend’s dog. A parent or guardian stays throughout the workshop to provide support and encouragement.
With a maximum of just four dogs per workshop and qualified, reward-based instructors, every child receives plenty of individual guidance while building a positive relationship with their canine teammate.

Workshop themes are offered on a rotating schedule, so not every theme will be available at every location or date.

No previous dog training experience is required. Activities are adapted to suit each individual child and dog team.
Safe, Supportive Learning
The safety and wellbeing of both children and dogs is important to us.
All Junior Dog Trainers Club workshops are supervised by qualified instructors who hold a current Working With Children Check. Children remain under the supervision of their parent or guardian throughout the workshop while learning safe, respectful, and positive interactions with dogs.
Junior Dog Trainers Club Workshop Details
Suitable for: Children aged 7–15 years
Dogs: Dogs of any age with a calm temperament who enjoy training and are comfortable working in a small group around other dogs and people.
Duration: 45 minutes
roup size: Maximum 4 dogs, with up to 2 children per dog
Cost: $49 for one child and dog team
Additional child: $10 when sharing the same dog (maximum 2 children per dog)

Does my child need their own dog?
No. Children are welcome to attend with any dog they already know well, such as the family dog, a grandparent’s dog or another familiar dog.

Not at all. Our workshops are suitable for beginners through to children who already enjoy training their dogs.

No. Your child can attend with a dog they already know and trust, such as the family dog, a grandparent’s dog or another familiar dog.

No. Activities are adapted to suit each individual child and dog team. The most important requirement is that the dog has a calm temperament, enjoys training and can work comfortably in a small group around other dogs and people.

Yes. Up to two children can participate with the same dog. The workshop costs $45 for the first child and dog team, with a second child able to join for an additional $10.
