Frantic to Focused Program
For dogs with BIG feelings, busy brains, and bodies that struggle to slow down.
The Frantic to Focused Program is designed for dogs who become overexcited, overstimulated, or highly aroused around the world around them. These dogs often struggle to stay calm, focus, disengage from exciting triggers, or settle once they become “worked up.”
Your dog may bark, whine, pull towards dogs or people, jump up, mouth, spin, scream, zoom around, or seem unable to switch off — not because they’re “naughty,” but because they’re struggling with emotional regulation and impulse control.
Many of these dogs are social, friendly dogs who simply experience life at full volume.
This program focuses on helping your dog learn how to:
Stay calmer around exciting triggers
Improve focus and engagement
Walk more calmly on lead
Disengage from dogs, people, cars, or wildlife
Develop better impulse control
Relax and settle more easily
Feel less overwhelmed in stimulating environments
We use practical, reward-based training methods that help dogs build emotional regulation skills without punishment, force, or harsh corrections.
What’s Included in the Frantic to Focused Program
🐾 Initial 2-Hour Consultation
Your program begins with a comprehensive two-hour consult at your home. This gives us the time to:
Take a detailed history of your dog and their behaviour
Identify situations that trigger over-arousal, impulsivity, or emotional overload
Discuss practical management strategies to reduce overwhelm and set your dog up for success
Explore enrichment, calming strategies, and lifestyle factors that may support emotional regulation
Begin foundation training exercises to help your dog develop calmness, focus, and disengagement skills
👉 Alternative Option: For dogs who may find visitors extremely exciting and are likely to become overly aroused, jump excessively, or struggle to settle enough for us to properly discuss your goals and training plan, we can begin with an online intake via Microsoft Teams instead.
Following the consult (in-person or online), you’ll receive a written, personalised training plan tailored to your dog’s unique needs — no cookie-cutter advice here.
🧣 Training Bandana
Your dog will receive a training bandana to wear during training sessions and outings.
📅 Three 1-Hour Revisit Sessions
Scheduled every 1–2 weeks, these follow-up sessions focus on:
Reviewing progress and celebrating wins
Troubleshooting challenges as they arise
Progressing your dog’s emotional regulation and engagement skills
Practising real-world training strategies
Building calmer responses around exciting triggers
Supporting your dog’s ability to disengage and settle
💬 Ongoing Support Between Sessions
You’re not on your own between visits — we are available for questions, feedback, and guidance throughout the program.
📚 Custom Training Materials & Resources
You’ll receive tailored handouts, exercises, and practical resources to help you continue building calmer, more connected behaviour at home and out in the real world.

Is This Program Right for Your Dog?
The Frantic to Focused Program is designed for dogs who become overly excited, overstimulated, impulsive, or emotionally “busy” around the world around them.
These dogs are often:
Social and eager to interact
Frustrated when they can’t get to dogs or people
Highly aroused and unable to switch off
Pulling towards triggers because they want to engage
Overexcited rather than fearful
Your dog may:
Whine, bark, vocalise, or scream from excitement
Pull strongly towards dogs or people
Spin, jump, zoom, or mouth when overstimulated
Struggle to focus outdoors
Become frantic or unable to settle after excitement
Find it difficult to disengage from exciting things
Become emotionally overwhelmed in stimulating environments
The program focuses on helping dogs develop:
Emotional regulation
Calmness
Focus and engagement
Impulse control
Disengagement skills
Relaxation around exciting triggers
How is this Different from Feisty Fido?
While both programs support dogs who struggle around triggers, the underlying emotions are often very different.
The Frantic to Focused Program is designed for dogs whose behaviour is primarily driven by:
Excitement
Frustration
Impulsivity
Difficulty regulating emotions
These dogs are often social and eager to interact, but become overly aroused and struggle to calm down or disengage.
Feisty Fido is designed for dogs displaying more intense reactive behaviours around triggers.
These dogs may:
Bark and lunge explosively at triggers
Rush towards dogs, people, cars, or bikes
Become highly reactive or confrontational on walks
Struggle with significant frustration around triggers
Display growling, snapping, or aggressive behaviours
Escalate quickly once triggered
If your dog’s behaviour involves significant reactivity, aggressive behaviour, or explosive responses around triggers, the Feisty Fido Program is likely to be more appropriate.

Our Approach
Hyperarousal is not a training problem alone — it’s often an emotional regulation problem.
That’s why we focus on helping dogs feel calmer, think more clearly, and make better choices, rather than simply trying to “stop” behaviours.
Training may include:
Calm engagement exercises
Pattern games and predictability
Disengagement training
Loose lead walking skills
Relaxation and settling exercises
Impulse control games
Environmental management strategies
Enrichment recommendations
Understanding early signs of over-arousal
Our training is evidence-based, force-free, and tailored to your individual dog and family.

You Don’t Have to Live in Survival Mode
Living with an overexcited, impulsive, or constantly “on” dog can feel exhausting. Walks become stressful, having visitors over feel chaotic, and it can seem like your dog is always operating at 110%.
But with the right support, things can absolutely improve.
Our goal is not just to “stop” behaviours.
It’s to help your dog learn how to feel calmer, think more clearly, and better cope with the world around them.
With practical strategies, emotional regulation skills, and force-free training, we’ll help both you and your dog feel more connected, confident, and capable in everyday life.
